INTRODUCING THE NEW 2009 GALANT
Somewhere along the line someone decided that a sedan should be sensible and predictable. We disagree! The new 2009 Galant takes the standard sedan, shakes it up, throws it out and comes back a sporty powerhouse that’s actually fun to drive.

When we set out to design the next Galant, we wanted to create a sedan the way it should be: a sedan that could carry your family safely and comfortably. A sedan that comes standard with all the bells and whistles, but without the big price. A sedan that actually makes you look forward to your morning commute. It was a tall order, but it was worth it.

The new 2009 Galant takes the standard sedan, shakes it up, throws
it out and comes back a sporty powerhouse that’s actually fun to
drive.

The first thing you’ll notice when looking at the new 2009 Galant is the redesigned nose and tail. Its expressive new styling is sure to turn more than a few heads. The chiseled front sports a chrome grill trim, halogen headlamps with dark chrome reflectors, dual heated side–view mirrors and new, integrated fog lights. And the tail boasts wider rear glass, new tail lamps and a rear trunk spoiler, making it equally attractive going and coming.

Of course, in the case of the 2009 Galant, beauty is more than skin deep. Under the hood, performance is king. With a choice of three engines, you can go from powerful to flat–out fast. The ES and Sport Edition claim a competitive 160–horsepower* 2.4–liter MIVEC engine with a road trip–friendly 27 mpg on the highway. The Sport V6 takes it up a notch with a 230–horsepower, 3.8–liter V6 with 250 lb.–ft. of torque. But for the seriously performance–minded, the Ralliart delivers 258–horsepower with a 3.8–liter MIVEC V6 with 258 lb.–ft. of torque. And every Galant comes standard with a smooth Sportronic® automatic transmission that learns from your driving habits with smart adaptive shift control. Add that to its independent rear suspension (shared with the sporty Eclipse coupe), and the Galant has the foundation of a true sports sedan.

Of course, cutting–edge technology isn’t limited to the engine and body. You’ll also find it in the available DVD–based navigation system with 7” touch screen that lets you select map modes, zoom levels and color schemes. It also includes an in–car calendar and maintenance reminders. And later this year, you’ll be able to add the available Bluetooth® hands–free interface with voice recognition. It will let you place and answer calls, even look up phone numbers and names without moving your hands from the wheel.

The Galant Sport models come standard with more premium features
than most other vehicles in their class.

The interior is equally impressive. Combining comfort and refinement, the Sport Edition features sport fabric heated front seats and 8–way power driver’s seat with lumbar adjustment. It also comes standard with automatic climate control and a sport–wrapped steering wheel with built–in audio controls. That’s on top of a spacious 100+ cubic–foot cabin with a generous 37” of rear legroom.

The 2009 Galant puts safety at the top of the list with a high level of safety technology, including anti–lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake–force distribution (EBD), dual advanced front airbags with seat position and occupancy sensors, front seat–mounted side–impact airbags, and side front and rear curtain airbags**.

You may have noticed that the only thing the new 2009 Galant doesn’t come with is sticker shock. In fact, the Galant Sport models come standard with more premium features than most other vehicles in their class — a savings that adds up to more than $1,000***. Premium features include power glass sunroof, auto–dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink®, 17” aluminum–alloy wheels, heated side–view mirrors and theft–deterrent alarm system. And the Galant Sport V–6 model and Ralliant add a standard 360–watt Rockford Acoustic Design premium audio system that includes SIRIUS® Satellite Radio with a six–month prepaid subscription.

Clearly the new 2009 Galant is a force to be reckoned with. The sedate sedan should consider itself on notice. The new 2009 Galant has arrived.

**Airbags are part of a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). To decrease the risk of injury from a deploying airbag, always wear your seatbelt, sit upright in the middle of the seat, and do not lean against the door. Always place children 12 and under in the rear seat and use appropriate child restraints. Never place a rear–facing infant restraint in the front seat. See your owner’s manual and instructions provided with your child restraint for additional information.
