Six-Airbag System

Our six-airbag system is standard on the Galant. This world-class safety feature includes advanced dual-stage front SRS airbags*, driver and passenger side-impact airbags*, and front and rear side-curtain airbags*on both the ES and SE trims.

Active Stability Control

ASC† (Active Stability Control) is a system that is designed to help maintain and control the lateral movement of the Lancer during difficult driving conditions. It uses sensors that check your speed, and measure how your Galant is responding to your steering input. Bottom line? ASC simplifies vehicle maneuvers for the driver by applying braking pressure to the wheel that is slipping and, if necessary, cutting down the engine throttle to help you maintain control.

Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)†

The ABS technology used by Galant helps to eliminate wheel lock-up during panic or emergency braking. Wheel speed is monitored and braking pressure is optimized when impending wheel lock-up is sensed. The system “pulses” the brakes up to 10 times per second, modulating wheel rotation to help eliminate lock-up and maximize driver control.

RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) Body

The Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body enhances protection for all passengers. In the event of a collision, efficient energy absorption and high cabin integrity are crucial. The RISE body delivers both to help keep you protected in front, side and rear collisions.

LATCH System

Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) help simplify the attachment of child safety seats; making it easier for you to help keep your child safe.

Seat Belts and Pretensioners

Every Mitsubishi is equipped with three-point seatbelts and head restraints, plus front seatbelt pretensioners that are designed to help tighten the belts in certain frontal impacts so the seatbelts can better do their job. Seatbelt force limiters, which help the front seatbelts and airbags* work together optimally, are also standard on every Galant.
