Active duty or active reserve personnel must provide one of the following documents: (1) a current (within the last 30 days) Leave and Earnings Statement (LES); (2) Department of Defense (DOD) letter from their Commanding Officer verifying active duty status; or (3) print out from https://scra.dmdc.osd.mil/scra/#/single-record verifying current active duty status. Retired U.S. Military personnel must provide one of the following documents: (1) current (within the last 12 month) Retiree Account Statement (RAS); or (2) most recent 1099-R or CRSC (Combat Related Special Compensation); or CRDP (Concurrent Retirement Disability Pay) Statement from Defense Finance and Accounting Service, U.S. Military Retirement Pay. Grey-Area Retirees who do not have RAS must provide both of the following documents: (1) DOD letter notifying Eligibility for Retired Pay at Age 60 and (2) current driver’s license. Grey-Area Retirees who are over 60 years old must also provide copy of current (within the last 12 month) RAS.
