Two veteran women and a dog involved in the Rebelle Rally event

THE ALL-NEW 2022 OUTLANDER GOES OFF ROAD

Mitsubishi Motors will be partnering with military veterans' charity Record the Journey to contest the Rebelle Rally for a third consecutive year October 7 to 16, as the two organizations continue to break new ground and defy barriers. Driving a lightly modified 2022 Outlander for more than 2,000 km, Team Record the Journey will be working to highlight the challenges military veterans face when returning from active duty. Mitsubishi is incredibly proud to support these brave and strong women as they navigate the rough terrain of the Nevada and California desert.

Over 9 days of competition, women from all over the United States will complete a course that requires precise navigation skills and a serious love for driving. Luckily, the 2022 Outlander is always up for the challenge with features like motorsport-proven Super All-Wheel Control and six driving modes that maximize driver confidence.

The Outlander's special paint scheme will honor Jutta Kleinschmidt, who made history 20 years ago in the Dakar Rally. Kleinschmidt drove a Mitsubishi Pajero to victory in 2001, becoming the only woman ever to win the world-famous Dakar, and contributing to Mitsubishi's 12 wins in the world's toughest off-road race. Joining the fleet will be Selena "Mason" Converse and Erin Mason, sisters-in-law, wives, mothers, and combat veterans. They'll be riding in their 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander on the nine-day, 2000-km rally with Sammy, Mason's two-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd, the first service dog ever to compete in the Rebelle. Altogether, Mason, Erin and Sammy are Team #207, representing Record the Journey.

"Mitsubishi Motors' participation in the Rebelle
Rally is first and foremost about our
partnership with Record the Journey and
supporting Rachael Ridenour and the charity
she founded to help military veterans."
MMNA Chief Operating Officer, Mark Chaffin

This year, in addition to supporting two veterans who honorably served, we're breaking ground with Mason and Erin competing with Sammy to raise awareness for PTSD and the potentially life-saving work that trained service dogs do. We couldn't be more proud to see the three of them in their 2022 Outlander, and celebrating one of Mitsubishi Motors' most significant Dakar wins.
