Level 1 and 2 charging uses the left electric charge port on Outlander PHEV. Level 1 uses 120V, while Level 2 uses 240V to cut the charge time in half. DC Fast Charging uses a gas pump-sized charger at stations for a quick boost of up to 80% charge in 25 minutes.
Level 1 and Level 2 charging require use of a dedicated charger to ensure safe charging of the Outlander PHEV.
Can all electric vehicles use the same type of charger?
Outlander PHEV can use Level 1 and 2 charging plus DC Fast Charging. Level 1 and 2 charging is standardized, but DC Fast Charge varies from each charging station. Outlander PHEV is only compatible with charging stations for DC Fast Charge.
How often do I need to charge the Outlander PHEV?

Do I need to install a charging station at home?
No, standard 120V household power outlets can charge Outlander PHEV to full capacity in less than eight hours. Outlander PHEV uses a highly efficient 2.0L gas engine, combined with two high–performance electric motors. This produces an amount of power similar to what’s available with the current Outlander’s V6 engine, and gives you the freedom to pursue all kinds of adventures.

What are the drive modes for the Outlander PHEV?
Outlander PHEV has three drive modes: EV Mode, Series Hybrid Mode, and Parallel Hybrid Mode. In EV Mode, the electric motors power the vehicle using electricity from the battery. Series Hybrid Mode uses electric power with engine assistance when you need it, such as when entering the freeway or going uphill. In Parallel Hybrid Mode, the engine powers the vehicle with assistance from the electric motors when extra power is needed. Excess energy can also charge the battery while driving.
Is Outlander PHEV always in all-electric mode?
Outlander PHEV will automatically use the optimal drive mode for the way you’re driving. EV Mode, with its all–electric performance, is enabled when driving in residential areas or at low speeds. You can select all–electric mode with the EV switch for zero fuel consumption and a quiet ride without engine noise. If needed, the gas engine will kick–in to provide more power.
Can I control when the Outlander PHEV uses gas and/or electricity?
Yes; the driver selected modes of Battery Save Mode, Battery Charge Mode and EV Priority Mode enable you to choose your preferred power source for driving with the Outlander PHEV.
Battery Save Mode forces the engine to turn on, stopping the use of the main drive battery. It is best used for the highway, where gasoline is most efficient.
Battery Charge Mode forces the engine to charge the lithium–ion battery pack up to 80 percent capacity, in approximately 40 minutes.
EV Priority Mode uses power solely from the main drive battery for all–electric driving via the Twin Motor S–AWC.
Is there an app I can use with the Outlander PHEV?

How do I use the two power outlets in the Outlander PHEV?
To utilize the AC power outlets, Outlander PHEV must be in READY Mode. Simply push the button to activate power through the outlets. With its combined 1500W, you can power multiple pieces of equipment or appliances at once – great for outdoor adventures! If you go over the allotted wattage, the power will immediately cut out.
What warranty is offered for the Outlander PHEV?
The 2020 Outlander PHEV comes with a fully transferable 5–year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty as well as a fully transferable 10–year/100,000–mile warranty on PHEV components and the Main Drive Lithium–ion battery.
